11/13/2022: 4.15 Miles
Woke up early with the mild notion that I might be able to join my dad for a run today, but I didn’t actually expect myself to until I was dressed and walking out of my bedroom door. It would seem that I’m growing especially restless post-off days, no doubt caused by both my increased fitness as of late and my restlessness as I am now approaching a month since I finished my job in Idaho and returned home. I think that the anticipated increase in plans that are now imminent will be enough to placate me. Or maybe it won’t. Whatever; either way, I’ll have the energy and motivation to head back out west in January.
I started out running a bit slower with my dad since it’s his long and slow day, and we got to appreciate the empty city on a Sunday morning while talking about the architecture of various colleges. I turned off after a couple of miles and headed back home, speeding up gradually. Now I knew that I had a bit of a tickle in my throat since I’d been coughing yesterday, and I probably should have run a bit slower as a result, but I was antsy like I said. I had a new cough for a little while after the run as a result. But I scoff at this cough, that will not turn off, and if you do not scoff then you must eat broth from my ten-gallon trough!
I didn’t think much during this run, which I guess is fine. The problem is that I don’t have that much to say about it now. Which means to talk about a segment that I like to call: “Tim Blanked Out During His Run So Here’s A Song Recommendation!” The song recommendation today is “Hold It Together” by The Marias, which is a great ambient synthpop song about someone trying to properly explain to their romantic partner what they’re thinking and feeling so that their partner can understand what is going on with them. But really this song is all about that smooth groove. This concludes today’s segment of TBODHRSHASR.
Tune in next time when we talk about the logistical issues that arise when you don’t have that many good rhymes for “cough”. Tim’s still running.
